Somehow I got a copy of a DVD entitled The Secret. Don't ask me how I got it or who I got it from. Was super excited to see it. Law of attraction, good things happening to good people, positive thinking and all that warm fuzzy stuff. Cool right?
Ok. I really hope I'm not the only idiot out there that didn't realize there were TWO movies called The Secret. At first I thought - oh, that guy from the XFiles is in The Secret. I didn't know the guy from the XFiles is in The Secret. I won't give away the plot of THAT movie but the whole time I'm watching it I'm simply not getting where the positive thinking new age stuff comes in and why there was all sorts of hallaballoo on Oprah about this movie. All I'm thinking is "Freaky Friday" (remember that book from the 80's?).
Here's the trailer for The Secret I saw:

And here's the trailer for the movie I THOUGHT I was watching:

So here's where I become even more of an idiot (no the fact that it took me 2 hours to figure out I was watching the wrong movie wasn't nearly enough to make me feel utterly stupid). I'm talking with my friend on the phone halfway through the movie and I tell her I'm watching The Secret. She's seen it so she asks what part I'm at. I say "oh, the part where she goes back to school as her daughter - kinda like Freaky Friday". On the other end of the line there is *silence*.
We hang up, I watch the rest of the movie and only at the end, figure out it's not the right movie.
I. Feel. Like. An. Idiot.
I guess under this bottle blonde is a true blonde hiding. *shhh* that's the true Secret.
